Spring into a Clutter-Free Home: Your Ultimate Guide to Effective Spring Cleaning

Springing forward as we did this past weekend, is also a great time to reflect on our surroundings and what they reveal and say about us as individuals in the brighter, longer days ahead.

Be honest. Which rooms in your house are in chaos? Which closets are over-flowing with clothes and shoes you haven’t worn in years? How many of us have pantries and cupboards with food that expired 5 years ago?

As the sun lingers longer over us in the next few months, shine your own light on what you need to let go of, donate and yes, trash. It’s time. Don’t let fall roll around again and this Daylight Savings Time dance we do twice per year catch you in the same cluttered, disorganized and disorderly salsa.

Spring into action. Here are 5 quick tips to get you started:

1.  Take out two trash bags. Put one on the right and one on the left. Left is donate, right is trash.

2.  Go in your pantry/closet/garage (wherever) and pick up 2 things you know you haven’t touched/used in the last year.

3.  Put each of the two things in the bag on the left or the bag on the right.

4.  Take out two more things.

5.  Take out two more things.
